The Summit Skyride is located in Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta, Georgia. Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc. was contracted out by Doppelmayr USA to supervise the cleaning and lubricating of the ropes. This process encompasses the attaching of a machine with steel brushes to the top of the carriage. The carriage then moves slowly up the line cleaning the cable. Once the cables are cleaned, the cleaning machine is replaced with a lubricating machine. The same process unfolds with the lubricating of the cable. This entire process is part of a maintenance program that helps to ensure the longevity and best performance of the wire ropes.
